Chris and Alan both tagged me for this “8 Random Things About Me” meme. Gee, thanks guys *grin*
The rules are:
1) Post these rules before you give your facts
2) List 8 random facts about yourself
3) At the end of your post, choose (tag) 8 people and list their names, linking to them
4) Leave a comment on their blog, letting them know they’ve been tagged
Here are my “random facts”:
- The first digital culture community I participated in (when I was 14, I’m not giving the date) was the local CB radio group and my handle was UT102
- The first online community I participated in (in 1992) was a fan list for a hot new TV show called Melrose Place
- My favourite board game is scrabble but my family stopped playing with me because I would spent too long shuffling my tiles trying to get 7 letter words when it was my turn (yay for scrabulous!)
- I love drawing with compressed charcoal
- My grade 5 teacher told me I could be a writer one day
- My grade 9 English teacher told me I was too verbose
- I’ve always wanted to work overseas (anybody hiring?)
- Although I am shy with strangers, my close friends call me a drama queen
Oh dear… now who do I know who won’t hate me for tagging them with this? Do I have any volunteers? I always spread the nice memes and I’ve even happy to do the first part of this because people asked me to and I am very obliging. But I feel really instrusive asking people to join in given that this one is of the “oh no *groan*” variety.
Soooooo
Why stick to the rules? Let’s bend them a bit. I need 8 people to come back here and comment and tell me they would love to reply and link to the reply on their blog. I’ll give big kudos to you 8 people…..
Anybody?

So if you’ve been tagged twice, shouldn’t you post 16 random facts about yourself?

I would like to reply too. I have read a lot of people’s random eight I and would like to be called off the bench to play.
BTW, I was guided to your blog KJ Hax in SL yesterday evening during a fireside discussion on voice in SL in regards to distance learning. I really dig the content here and I am looking forward to reading your book.
Thank you for your consideration.

Angela,
If you will pardon my double comment, allow me to apologize for noticing the typo in my previous comment after hitting the “submit” button. From one English teacher to another, I am sure you can understand the great pressure we are under to present perfection in all manners of writing (even though, admittedly, most of the pressure comes from within). There, I feel better now.
As I said, I was directed to your site by KJ Hax while in SL yesterday evening and I am looking forward to reading more of what you have to say.
Hopefully, you will kindly consider me as one of your lucky eight. My blog can be found at http://mattskillen.com.
Thank you,
Matt Skillen (Matthew Contepomi)
